About The Show A celebration of creativity and originality, MONSTAH BLACK AND THE SONIC LEROY: SUBMERGED IN BLUE is the latest multimedia event conceived by performance artist, Monstah Black. Incorporating live multi-media performance, visual design and dance, Monstah addresses issues surrounding androgyny and pop culture, including bullying, ownership, empowerment and the cultural influence of the "pop" star. The foundation for his sound, The Sonic Leroy, is, in this incarnation, made up of Major Scurlock on keys, Eddie Alsina on lead guitar, Juliette Jones on electric violin and Beatrice Anderson on vocals.
About Monstah Black Monstah Black is a true renaissance man channeling legacies as diverse as Prince, Sylvester and Fela Kuti. A performing force to be reckoned with, he merges neo-funk, modern movement, and visual design to create his own brand of Art-pop.
