was only five when she announced she wanted to become a ballerina. Four years of study began in her ballet school next to a row of shops. Elizabeth first came before the public in a pink tutu with a teddy bear devised by Miss Pauline to display her students' abilities. Another four years of no dancing was rather monotonous. Eventually she found dance again (along with acting in the theater) and was allowed to go up on pointe. Her life was not somewhat dreary.
