AN ANGRY GREEN HUE DOG AND A GLASS OF MILK - THE FAIRY TALE
A little boy lived with his family in a small town in a faraway country. The family lived happily until one day the father didn’t return home. The little boy’s mother got worried sick. She came down with ennui and could not move out of bed.
Every day the little boy went to his grandmother’s house to pick up a canister of milk, so his sick mother could have a glass of it before sleep.
A dog appeared at the gates of the little street to the grandmother’s house at the time of the father’s disappearance. The gate was narrow. The dog was big and scary. It was kept on a very short chain barely extending the length of the dog’s body. The dog would growl, show its sharp teeth, and would lash at the little boy as if trying to bite him every time the boy walked by it.
Each day the mother’s health was getting worse. Each day, it seemed, the dog was getting bigger and bigger. The distance between the little boy and the dog was getting smaller and smaller. Still, every day, the little boy went to his grandmother’s house to pick up the milk for his mother. The boy would leave a bit of milk at the gates to distract the dog.
Some really bad weather came down one day. The boy was late to get to his grandmother’s house. The grandmother had only a glass of milk left for the little boy to take home to his sick mother. The boy had not enough of it to leave for the dog, which grew so big, that there was no way for the boy to squeeze by it without getting its attention.
To the little boy’s surprise, the dog was sound asleep and facing away when he approached the gates. There was enough space for him to pass the dog by without disturbing its sleep. While the boy was tiptoeing by the sleeping dog, he slipped and fell. The canister slid from the sled with a loud bang. The dog woke up and lashed onto the boy. The chain snapped. The dog jumped on top of the boy.
The boy wanted to scream, but no sound came from his mouth. The dog’s sharp teeth with dripping saliva were a few inches away from his face. The boy’s heart was just about to jump out of his chest. In a split second the dog calmed down, sniffed the boy, and tenderly licked his face. It turned around and ran away. The boy collected the canister with the milk and ran back home to his sick mother as fast as he could. To his surprise, he found his mother fully recovered cooking dinner and his father sound asleep on the couch. The mother kissed the little boy, poured the milk into a glass and put it next to the sleeping father.
